HomeMint: A New Home Decor Monthly Subscription

As if there were enough monthly subscription services, the Mint company came out with HomeMint just recently.

What is HomeMint? HomeMint was created by Justin Timberlake and Interior Designer Estee Stanley. It sells home decor, from dishes to furniture. To start, you take a  quiz like the other subscription services that can detect your home style. There is a wide range of styles shown during the quiz, so not too worry if you think that they won’t cater to your style.

However, the website does come with a cost. Many of the products cost more than $100. Not saying that is bad, however, for many that can be a little pricey. Especially for a pillow or simple decoration. I would of liked to see more friendly prices. If you want to get exclusive discounts on the products, you can pay $10 a month to receive those discounts. Not to worry though, HomeMint is completely free!

Moda Operandi: Buy Fashion Right Off The Runway

Moda Operandi will now be selling online. What is Moda Operandi? It is a website that sells clothing and accessories right off the runway. You can pre-order items and put down 50% for a deposit. Once Moda Operandi receives the orders they send them to the designers and then the designers send the clothing or accessories to Moda Operandi. It takes about 6 weeks for jewelry and 4-5 months for ready to wear.

When Moda receives the clothes from the designers they send them to the customers. Also, this website was invite only. Now it is open to everyone.

According to owner Magnusdottier, “When we first launched the business, it was the first time designers were showing their latest collections right away with a lot of detail shots. It gave designers comfort in the beginning to know that their latest collections were only being displayed to a limited group of people that actually love fashion” (Mashable).

However Moda Operandi will still sell the items at a…hefty price. Few items are under $800 and most orders will cost about $1,400. That can seem overwelming to few but well worth the investment, especially if you buy a timeless piece.

Victoria’s Secret Creates a High End Line

Victoria’s Secret, the one place women shop for all things lingerie created a high end lingerie line. The line features European lace, chiffons, embroideries on bras, baby dolls, underwear, kimonos and corsets. The prices range from $48 to $198. Items are selling out quickly and the popular sizes are already sold out. They are however, planning to bring back the whole collection back in June.

It was a matter of time before Victoria’s Secret created a high end line. They are one of the top lingerie brands. We just hope that their quality for their lower end products transfer over to the high end products.

What is even more great is that it gives consumers the option to purchase high end lingerie. Many high end lingerie, specifically designer lingerie is exclusive and can only be found in certain stores. With Victoria’s Secret you can purchase it right online, making it super convenient.

You can also find the high end line starting in June in 13 stores across the United States.

Doo-RI Chung For Macy’s

Macy’s has announced that their next collaboration will be with designer Doo-Ri Chung. The collection will be debuted on February 15th and will sell for eight weeks at 225 Macy’s stores and online. The collection will include trench coats, arty prints, short and long dresses and leggings. The prices will range from $40 to $160. Doo-Ri’s soft draped fabrics make us even more excited for the collection to hit stores.

Doo- Ri Chung said, “The customer is very different from whom we’ve catered to before, but I really didn’t have to adapt. Macy’s wanted to keep the design level high. I didn’t feel the challenge was very different” (WWD).

Macy’s collaboration with Karl Lagerfeld has already hit the sales racks and the Giambattista Valli’s collection will premiere next week and will end just before Doo-Ri’s collection hits stores. Macy’s has made it easier for people with limited access to designer goods to purchase them for a lot less. Why not be fashionably chic for less?

Will you be purchasing any pieces from Doo-Ri’s collection at Macy’s?

Bebe To Sell Wedding Dresses

Bebe has announced that they will be introducing a wedding dress collection next year in March. The collection will also feature 10 bridesmaids dresses, veils, clutches, and jewelry. Everything is moderately priced as well. The wedding dresses go for between $950 to $2500. The bridesmaid dress range in prices from $150 to $300.

Rami Kashou, bridal gown designer of Bebe included, “I wanted to create beautiful wedding gowns with a custom feel and attention to detail, it will be feminine, elegant, timeless and romantic and a celebration of the hour-glass figure” (Hindustan Times).

Many retailers have started creating bridal boutiques as well. Back in February, 20120 J Crew opened a bridal store in New York. Urban Outfitters, Free People and Anthropologie has also opened bridal boutiques.

One reason many stores are now doing this is because many are looking for that trendy, modern wedding gown but at an affordable price. Not many bridal boutiques offer affordable trendy wedding gowns.

Not many might favor Bebe’s designs but for those who are looking for that non-traditional, funky wedding dress, this might be the line you have been waiting for.
